an olive proposal | rae + nick
Our names are Rae and Nick, we are from Winnipeg Canada! I am a wedding/elopement photographer and Nick is in the restaurant industry. Like many other couples we met during the uncertain times of the pandemic, actually, right after we started dating our city announced a Code Red lockdown, with restrictions put in place that you could only see one person. So with barely knowing each other we decided we were each other's person and then spent the next 6 months in our homes playing board games, ordering in or cooking together. Then spring and summer 2021 came and we could finally leave our homes again and we took advantage or going out, playing catch up on all the first date things we missed. We enjoy playing crib, drinking wine, hiking and camping together - so naturally all those things were involved in our engagement story. We were away on a winter get away at Wild Skies Resort and on the first night after charcuterie and wine we went outside to take photos under the fairy lights and Nick got down on one knee and the rest is history. I am so in love with my unique but traditional ring from Olive Avenue, it perfectly summarizes us and our story.
